Happy Moments

My happy moments for this week...

* Having my other half come home after 4 days away in Sydney. I missed him more than I thought I would!

* Baking a cake for the first time since high school Home Economics. Turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.

* Finding the most gorgeous cushion covers for my new couch - and they're reasonably priced!

* Spending all day Saturday either lying on the couch, baking or on the computer. Lazy day bliss.

* Gaining more confidence and fashion inspiration from my new favourite tumblr.

* Getting excited looking at herbs - still haven't actually planted any though

My happy moments for this week...

* Keeping the house relatively clean again! This is going really well, and the happy result is that I have fewer chores to do on the weekend.

* Curling up on the couch and watching "Burlesque" all by myself on Friday night. MY choice of movie. It was a nice change.

* First issue of new magazine subscription arrived. God I love getting mags in the mail.

* Anticipating my work moving into the city - the move is getting really close and I cannot wait to be using the train again every day instead of driving to work.

* Window shopping at Invitation House yesterday. I adore stationery.

My happy moments for this week:

* Realising that replacing stress and anger with love and understanding actually works. It's not just some New Age waffle like I previously thought.

* Buying our new lounge. It was quick, painless and I'm in love with it. Just waiting for it to be delivered now. And best of all, it's Australian made.

* Researching our honeymoon destination and daydreaming about lying on the beach in Fiji.

* Getting my partner hooked on Tiny Towers. He's hilariously obsessed with it now.

* Keeping the house reasonably tidy this week. Have some new strategies in place that seem to be working. Thanks in part to Fly Lady!

My happy moments for this week:

1. Two glorious sleep-ins in a row this weekend. Thank you lord.

2. Getting the house looking presentable for pending future-in-laws visit.

3. Going for a fish-n-chip dinner at Brighton, then taking it down to the Shorncliffe pier to eat it on Saturday night. It was a nice date night.

4. Finally got C to buy a new pair of sneakers. Still haven't convinced him to throw out the filthy old ones though...

5. I finally booked my wedding reception venue, which means we now have a date! March 2012 people. Nine months to plan!

My happy moments for this week:

- Hearing about my mum's experience singing at the Sydney Opera House with Chorus Oz. Amazing that she gets to do that.

- Answering truthfully to several people who asked that yes, I am enjoying my new job. It's much better than my old one and I'm so much less stressed!

- Having a girl's night out to see Bridesmaids. I laughed, I hooted embarrassingly, I loved it. What a great movie - I loved the themes about female competitiveness and friendship.

- Catching up with our friends for pizza on Friday night. A simple thing but so much fun, and we never run out of things to talk about.

- Actually getting some housework done. Because I haven't been away the past two weekends I've been able to maintain a level of orderliness that fills me with satisfaction!

* Friday night pizza night with my darling other half

* The satisfaction of completing a task I've been wanting to do for a while - tidying the dining room

* Hosting a dinner party for six without getting stressed out

* Getting my photos printed ready for scrapbook camp next weekend

* A long hot shower with new new aloe vera shower creme. Yummy!

1. Going scrapbooking with my mum for the first time in ages.

2. Asking my cousin to be my bridesmaid. And her saying yes.

3. Snuggling in warm flanellette sheets at my mums place, on two freezing nights.

4. Watching Eurovision semi-finals in front of the wood fireplace.

5. Scoffing pizza with the other half after getting home late.

My happy moments for this week!

1. Starting a new job and realising it is not as complicated as I had feared. The knowledge that I can do this is powerful and wonderful!

2. Snuggles in bed in the mornings now that it is getting colder.

3. Making and emailing mum a little mother's day message out of paper flowers. She loved it.

4. Picking up a top and scarf at KMart for only $15!

5. Time alone two evenings in a row with the TV to myself while C is working. Bliss.

This week was a blur of work and then a quiet weekend, but I had some lovely moments...

1. Starting a Battlestar Galactica re-watch with my fiancee. I was so overjoyed he wanted to do this with me, as watching shows with someone else who loves them is approximately 175 x better than on your own. This series re-watch was inspired by meeting Katee Sackhoff and glimpsing Tahmoh Penikett at Supanova last weekend.

2. I finally bought some conditioner for the new water bed. Not only did I remember, I went to the right shop! Hurray!

3. Putting together The Plan. It's on my fridge now and is kicking off TONIGHT.

4. Cleaning off the kitchen bench. It was a nightmarish pile of junk mail, keys, coins, bills, paper-clips, books and magazines. It's so satisfying to look at it now and see CLEAN SURFACES.

5. Trying out our new popcorn maker. I chose it as an engagement gift from my brother and his girlfriend, and it didn't disappoint. 1/3 of a cup of popcorn kernels makes a bowl big enough to satisfy us!
